Security

Please Read - Fight back against fraud with S.T.R.O.N.G.:

Stop and conduct verbal checks over the phone with a number you know and trust on any new or amended payment instructions or changes in contact details. Email accounts can be compromised.

Take your time. Do not assume a sender or caller is genuine because they know information about you or your company, the email address or telephone number looks familiar, or even appears to be genuine. Criminals may try to pressure you, but you are always in control.

Remain vigilant: Barclays will never do any of the following:

  • Ask you to make payments or move money to a ‘safe account’
  • Call you and ask you to provide or enter your PIN or use your biometric device for any reason
  • Take control of your computer, or call you unexpectedly and direct you to a website

Open emails and links with caution. Report suspicious emails. Never click on links or open attachments from unverified senders.

Never enter any personal or security information into a site accessed through an unverified email link.

Get in contact, report any fraudulent activity immediately.

Important security obligations you must read before logging in
Please ensure you have read and understand your security obligations when using Barclays.Net.
For users of PIN pad readers, this includes never leaving your smart card inserted in your card reader when you are not signing a payment or performing an administration change. Always remove it, keep it secure after use, and keep your PIN secret.
You will only ever be asked to authenticate yourself with your security device once, and only when you perform any of the following activities: log in, make a payment, set up templates or make an administrative change.
Failure to comply with your security obligations increases your risk of incurring fraudulent payments. This security message will appear periodically.
